MANILA – Fifteen people, including a minor, were arrested in anti-criminality raids in Quezon City before dawn on Thursday, in an effort by the police to capture the people behind last Sunday’s shootings that left seven people dead. Police said those arrested have outstanding warrants for arrests for various charges. Seized from the suspects were suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and several weapons such as homemade shotguns, a .38-caliber pistol, samurai, and butterfly knife (balisong). Police, however, failed to arrest people suspected to be behind last Sunday’s shootings that left seven people dead – five in Fairview area and another two in Tandang Sora. Police initially arrested six men last Tuesday, but only one of the suspects, identified as Alsaid Mindelano, is believed to be involved in the shooting. Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano, meanwhile, assured the public that legal process was followed in the arrests. – report from Kori Quintos, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA – Fifteen people, including a minor, were arrested in anti-criminality raids in Quezon City before dawn on Thursday, in an effort by the police to capture the people behind last Sunday’s shootings that left seven people dead.
